12/07/09 - Cat

High-contrast monochrome with flash.

In an effort to deplete the battery of the camera, I bugged my cat by taking multiple shots of her. At first, she kept on getting up and slithering on my legs, But when it became apparent to her that I had no food with me, she just ignored me (which is actually good because she was easier to shoot that way.)

Frontal face shots were hell to shoot because I had to keep the camera almost level to the floor.....and that floor is very rough - like kneeling on salt.

12/07/09 - Unboxing the Certina

After a day long sulk due to my delayed flight to Batanes, I was pleasantly surprised when my parents insisted to take me along a malling trip to buy me a watch. Apparently they wanted to combine both my Christmas and birthday presents. Normally, I don't mind not being given gifts. (Food treats work better on me.) But when they told me I'd be given one of those bulky chronograph-type watches made in Switzerland, I was giddy with excitement.

So I got a Certina DS Action Quartz Chronograph. There's actually a newer model of the same series available, but it looked a bit fancy, unlike this more serious older model so it's the one I chose.

The "unboxing" came a day later. I wanted to take advantage of daylight since I don't have a lightbox.

11/28/09 - Jellyfishes

The new Jellyfish Sanctuary at the Manila Ocean Park is worth the return trip. Highly recommended for new DSLR owners.
