Greenpeace = Jerks

TWO weeks ago I was at Robinsons-Pioneer to meet up with my girlfriend, Tine.  I was early so I walked around the mall.  In the process, I passed by a booth occupied by Greenpeace a number of times.  They were apparently soliciting funds from passersby to fund their activities.  Funny thing is that the two guys who were doing the soliciting only seemed to approach women.  I must have passed them by around three times, but I never got the slightest notice from them.

Eventually, Tine arrived and as we were about to meet, this English-speaking Greenpeace ass-wipe went between us when we were just 2 meters away from each other, and began to pester Tine with his solicitations.  This guy didn't even look at me as he tried to prevent me and Tine from holding hands ("Please ma'am, it only takes a few minutes.")

Feeling slighted, I shoved him aside and told him, "You're an asshole."  When his friend overheard this, he began to concernedly approach us and I told him, "And you too."  I gave both guys a staredown (which is a funny term to use because they were bigger than me) before Tine managed to pull me away.

Those Greenpeace jerks are irritating in a manner that makes Family First salesmen look patient and non-intrusive.

I wonder if those guys from the WWF are equally obnoxious.

  1. Actually I joined Greenpeace but I decided to quit when I learned that the founder himself opted out of the organization, so there must be really something wrong with it talaga. Good job Chito! Haha! =D

  2. Two guys shouldn't create an impression on the entire global organization. If that is the case then women are corrupt and men are philanderers. Hmmm..baka nga may point ka haha.

  3. Hay nako, may negative experience din kami ni chelle jan.. she tried to ask some volunteers similar to the guys you encountered in the mall what type of services she can offer in order to help the org, kase she was not thinking of monetary donations. kahit anong sabihin nya, ang response nung bobitang girl ay we accept donations lang po.

  7. no, WWF people are in no way obnoxious like that! i think i can say that even among environmental NGOs, greenpeace isn't exactly looked upon for the effectiveness of their methods..

  8. ^ Hey Jera, I was looking through my books some weeks ago and I saw a postcard from a guy from WWF squeezed in between the pages of one of them. I think it was sent to you. As to how it found its way into one of my books, I don't know. LoL!
